Overview

Interleukin-2 (IL-2) is a cytokine that plays a central role in T-cell activation, proliferation, survival, and immune regulation. Secreted primarily by activated CD4⁺ T lymphocytes, IL-2 functions as an essential growth factor for T cells and is widely used in immunology, cancer research, adoptive cell therapy, and cell culture.

In vitro, IL-2 is indispensable for expanding activated T lymphocytes, maintaining natural killer (NK) cells, and supporting immune cell functional assays.
